Homemade face masks

I've been getting into using all natural everything as of lately. If you have Netflix Instant do yourself a favor and at least watch Food Matters. It definitly changed my life and made me look at food and everything I put on my body differently.

So if you've read my blog for awhile or know me in real life then you might already know that I love the store Lush and I talked about some of their products before. And I most definitly am not done shopping there, I just thought I would try making some of my own face masks. I used a few of my old tubs from some Lush face masks and filled them with my own creations :)

I did a little reasearch and I found that these ingredients are all good for your skin. 

The first one with sugar and all those oils I only have used as a lip scrub so far and that didn't work out so well but that's because I should've used a more fine sugar. I think it will work just fine as a face mask although I plan to try it tonight for that. Next time I might use brown sugar instead. Another good face mask I used to use was just simply milk and brown sugar and it was an awesome exfoliant! But if you make a batch of it I would suggest leaving it in the fridge.

The second one I intended to use as a moisterizer. I melted the coconut oil over the stove and then added oil and poured it into the black tub. I didn't use it that night because I didn't really want to put it on my face before bed and by the time I woke up in the morning it the coconut oil had solidified so I just used a makeup sponge to apply some to my face and I liked it! It definitly smells delicious :)

The third one is just simply two ingredients and it turned out the best! I left it on my face for about 15 minutes, I should've went longer but my face was starting to itch but I think that's only because the oats kept falling off and it was tickling my skin. That would be the only thing I would change, would be the oats, because they kept falling off and getting honey everywhere. So I think next time I will try it will finer chopped up oats or maybe finely chopped almonds.

Love it! I think I'll try grinding up the oats in my spice grinder, then adding them to the honey..might help the consistency. I'll let you know how it goes haha
